Upgrade Blue Survey Application

& Integrate with Blackboard

The Blue Explorance Survey system is the UAEU’s main tool for conducting surveys across the University as well as for external audiences. In collaboration with Division of Information Technology (DoIT) and Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE), a project was planned and delivered to upgrade the tool to keep the system up to date and performed integration with other UAEU systems. The project was implemented and achieved the following deliverables: • Upgraded the tool with latest version allowing OIE to have the latest features available and keeping the system up to date to ensure the system performance and security. • Integration with some ODS Views Data as a directly available data source(s) to create and publish the surveys. Direct Integration with data speed up the process instead of performing some data tasks manually. • Integration with Blackboard for the deployment of the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) course and instructor evaluation survey. Thus, allowing students to directly access the surveys from Backboard which eventually helps to increase the response rates for surveys. As per OIE reporting, the response of "course evaluation survey" has been enhanced for Fall 2021 SET survey with a response rate of 46% (vs 18% for Spring 2021).
